IMTS 2014 Visit

Dear SME members,

On Friday, September 12, 2014 a Badger Coach will be taking interested engineering students to the International Manufacturing Technology Show (www.imts.com) at Chicago's McCormick Place. The bus will leave the Mechanical Engineering Building at 8:00 AM and return at approximately 7:00 PM.  The bus ride and entrance to the show are FREE. You are responsible for any food and drink that you require at the show.

If you would like to attend IMTS with us on Friday, September 12, 2014 then you will need to reserve a seat on the bus that has been chartered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering (UW-Madison). Use the following link to reserve a seat:

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• If you reserve a seat then I expect you to use it.
• If you reserve a seat and do not show up at 8:00 am on Sept. 12 then you will feel the wrath of Prof. Pfefferkorn.
• This is a professional trade show. All attendees are expected to behave professionally.
• You represent yourself and the UW-Madison when you are attending this show.
• Dress code = machine shop, casual, business casual
• Close-toed shoes that are comfortable for walking long distances
• Long pants (without tears in them)
• Shirt without logos or writing on it (excpetion is Wisconsin or UW-Madison logos)
• Clothes should be clean but do not have to be dressy
• The bus remains locked at all times and the bus driver stays with it. You can bring a backpack and leave it on the bus during the show.

2014 Fall Kickoff Meeting

Hello, every one! Welcome back to UW-Madison. We hope you all had a nice summer break. This Friday we are going to hold the SME Fall 2014 Kickoff Meeting and would like to invite both new and returning members to join us and enjoy the free pizza!

We would be excited to see all of you in the kickoff meeting. This kickoff meeting will be a great opportunity to reunite with old friends and meet new ones. Besides, free pizza and drinks will be provided!
